In 2015, Annenberg Property Group concluded a joint venture deal between The Mandalay Group and Swish Property Group, which was set up to develop the Thembokwezi Square shopping centre in Mandalay, Khayelitsha.
We were involved in all steps from the design process of the centre, the finalisation and negotiations of all leases up until the opening of the centre.
The shopping centre was built by Gorrie & Findlay in just 8 months.
The centre opened on 1 July 2016 and has been trading extremely well. This is the second shopping centre that we have been involved in from concept stages to Grand Opening.
Tenants include Shoprite, Pep, Ackermans, KFC, Pep Cell, Debonairs, Shoprite Liquors and Gold Circle.
We will commence leasing of phase 2 shortly.
We begin construction in August of our third centre, situated on the doorstep of the University of the Western Cape in Belhar with Spar, Clicks and Pep as our anchors.
