Today marks the first Mandela Day since his passing on 5 December 2013. Mandela day is an initiative born out of the ideals and the legacy of Nelson Mandela, a name synonymous with the struggle from oppression, with love and forgiveness.
Nelson Mandela Day ignites philanthropy and reminds us all of the work that needs to be done to honour the memory of men as magnificent as Nelson Mandela.
Earlier this year Annenberg Property Group opened the doors to a new Shoprite anchored Shopping Centre in Du Noon, Cape Town. This development was welcomed by the local community who until now had to travel long distances to buy food and supplies. The centre also created employment opportunities for the local community.
In honour of Mandela Day Annenberg Property Group found it fitting to donate money and much needed supplies to Little Lambs, a charity that has done some sterling work in the Du Noon community. Their mission is to reduce child poverty, reduce chronic hunger and to develop hope in the hearts of children.
