Epping at a glance

Epping Industria, established in the late 1940s, has grown to become the largest centrally located industrial suburb of greater Cape Town. Initially, its development was slow, but it gained momentum in the 1950s when Gunners Circle was transformed into a race track.

However, as Epping expanded into an industrial suburb, the race track closed in 1958. The completion of the Athlone Power Station in the mid-1960s and the presence of the Cape Town Market, one of the oldest and largest fresh produce markets still in operation, further fueled Epping's growth and attracted various industries to the area.

Infrastructure:
Most properties in Epping are zoned as General Industrial 1. Interestingly, when the area was developed, the roads were named in alphabetical order. The street names were inspired by Admirals in the Royal Navy, as well as the artillery used in various wars.

Epping remains a popular choice for investors, developers, and a wide range of businesses, including those in the automotive, construction, logistics, food processing, printing, and warehousing industries.

The strategic location of Epping, situated between the N1 and N2 Highways and accessible via the N7 Highway (Jakes Gerwel Drive), provides convenient access to major roadways in Cape Town. It is approximately 8 km from Cape Town International Airport and 15 km from the city center.

To ensure the well-being of the area, the Epping Community Improvement District (ECID) exists, with property owners contributing to its operating costs. The ECID's efforts focus on maintaining cleanliness, security, and public spaces in collaboration with the City of Cape Town. As a result, Epping Industrial benefits from 24-hour surveillance and regular deployment of extra security vehicles, making it a safer environment for businesses and residents alike.

Location:
Epping Industria is strategically located between the N1 and N2 Highways in Cape Town, South Africa. It can be easily accessed via the N7 Highway (Jakes Gerwel Drive). This prime location provides convenient connectivity to major roadways in Cape Town, making transportation and logistics more efficient for businesses operating in the area.

In terms of proximity, Epping is approximately 8 km away from Cape Town International Airport, allowing for easy access to air travel. Moreover, it is located about 15 km from the city center, providing businesses with close proximity to the heart of Cape Town.

The central location of Epping Industria has contributed to its popularity among investors, developers, and businesses from various industries. It offers a favorable location for companies looking to establish a presence in Cape Town, thanks to its accessibility and connectivity to major transportation routes.

Overall, Epping Industria's location, situated between major highways and in close proximity to both the airport and city center, adds to its attractiveness as a hub for industrial and commercial activities in greater Cape Town.
